Buff State Messiah Concert

Handel’s Messiah: Trevor Jelowski, a tenor with the Buffalo
State Chamber Choir performed the first solo of the evening during the
Buffalo State Choir and Chorale’s presentation of George Frederick Handel’s
Messiah. The Choir and Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Thomas
Witakowski, and the presentations took place at St. Stanislaus Church on
Tuesday, Dec. 4.

International Christmas Concert
St. Stanislaus Church

The hearty and adventurous souls that attended the
International Christmas Concert held at St. Stanislaus Church this past
Sunday were treated to a very special and intimate performance by the Tworek
Family Trio.
The concert consisted of traditional Christmas songs from
around the world with a couple of classical instrumental numbers added to
round things out.
As each member of the family performed individually, their
performances showed how much they really love music. Adrienne Tworek Gryta’s
interpretation of Gdy Sliczna Panna, was inspirational. As Emily Tworek
Helenbook sang her renditions of Gesu Bamibo and O Holy Night, she was
clearly moving the audience. Then the patriarch of the musically gifted
family had his chance to shine as he performed two classical instrumental
selections, “Winter” by Vivaldi and “Adoration” by Borowski. The piano
accompaniment of Dr. David Bond, who has played with the Tworek Family for
years, was excellent. His performance of intricate arrangements without
overshadowing the singers or instrumentalist added a beautiful background to
the concert.
